Join us on the El Morado Glacier Trek, one of the most breathtaking mountain experiences in the Cajón del Maipo, just a few hours from Santiago.
On this 3-hour hike, you will walk along Andean trails with moraines and panoramic views of the Andes Mountains. Along the way, you will pause to rest, take photos, and admire the vast mountain landscape. At 3,260 meters of altitude, you will reach the El Morado lagoon and glacier, an awe-inspiring natural wonder that showcases the power of nature.
We will return together along the same trail to the vehicle, closing this high-mountain adventure with unforgettable memories just a short distance from Santiago.
This trek has a medium to high difficulty level, so we recommend having good physical condition. The hike takes place at altitudes ranging from 2,600 to 3,250 meters above sea level, covering approximately 14 kilometers round trip, with an elevation gain of about 700 meters from the starting point.
It is not strictly necessary, but you should have moderate physical condition and some acclimatization. Even though the guide sets a slow pace during the trek, it’s important that you can adapt to the altitude to avoid symptoms of altitude sickness.
