Day 1: Santiago - Cancha Carrera Base Camp (8 km trek, 5 hours).
We’ll begin the expedition heading towards Cerro Leonera, located in the Andes and just a few hours away from Santiago. Upon reaching the base of the mountain, the trail will lead us through rugged landscapes, passing by Piuquenes Lagoon and the Cerro Pintor refuge. At over 4000 m of altitude, we’ll set up base camp, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Santiago on one side and the high Andean summits on the other.

Base camp (4000 m): views over Santiago and the Andes peaks.
Accommodation: campsite at Cancha Carrera base camp.
Day 2: Cancha Carrera Base Camp - Leonera Hill Summit - Santiago (17 km trek, 12 and a half hours).
We’ll start early to reach the summit of Cerro Leonera (4950 m). From the top, you’ll admire breathtaking views of the imposing Cerro El Plomo and its glacier. After a well-deserved rest, we’ll descend back to base camp and then to the foot of the mountain, where a vehicle will take us back to Santiago, marking the end of this adventure.
