Cerro El Plomo, standing at nearly 5500 m, is the tallest peak visible from Santiago, dominating the city skyline. Along the way, you’ll enjoy breathtaking Andean landscapes and start acclimatizing to the altitude.

  • Federación Base Camp: camp at over 4000 m altitude.

Day 2: Federation Camp - El Plomo Hill Summit - Federation Camp (8 km trek, 12 hours).

We’ll start before dawn, aiming for the summit of Cerro El Plomo (5424 m). While technically not difficult, the high altitude makes it a physical challenge, so we’ll ascend slowly to acclimatize and avoid altitude sickness. From the summit, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the Central Andes, including Aconcagua, and a privileged vantage point of Santiago. After some rest, we’ll descend back to Federación Base Camp.

  • Summit ascent (5424 m): the highlight of the expedition.

  • Central Andes views: panoramic sights of Aconcagua and Santiago.

  • Return to Federación Base Camp: well-earned rest after a demanding day.

Accommodation: campsite at Federación Base Camp.

Day 3: Federation Camp - Santiago (12 km trek, 6 hours).

After breakfast, we’ll descend from the camp back to the mountain base. From there, a vehicle will take us back to Santiago, marking the end of this unforgettable adventure.
