We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to start this trip outside the city. The tour to the Red Rocks & Altiplanic Lagoons will take us through important touristic places inside the Atacama Desert. To reach the Red Rocks Lagoon, also known as Aguas Calientes Salt Flat, we will have to go up in our vehicle to 3800 meters of altitude and walk for 1 hour and 15 minutes, to see the red-colored rocks, besides some lagoons and salt flats around. The same way, we will make a stop in the Chaxa Lagoon, place where you will be able to see flamingos. Then, we will go to the area of Altiplanic Lagoons Miscanti and Miñiques, where our guide will give us some information about the flora and fauna of the place. The same way, we will pass by the town of Socaire and the Tropic of Capricorn, where we will make a stop to take pictures. After that, we will return to San Pedro de Atacama to end our tour.
*The order of the visiting places is subject to changes the same day of the tour.
*Because the snow accumulation during winter months, the access to Miscanti and Miñiques lagoons could be closed. If that’s the case, the visit to these lagoons will be replaced by the Tuyajto Lagoon.
*The pickup service included is nor carried out from/to accommodations located outside the urban area of San Pedro de Atacama, accommodations located at ayllus close to San Pedro de Atacama (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor and Coyo) nor accommodations in the town of Toconao.
*Once your booking is confirmed, the entrance fee for the Chaxa Lagoon must necessarily be bought not later than the day before the excursion until 6:00 pm, in Puntoticket. At the moment of the pickup, the guide will ask for the tickets to all passengers, including children and adults over the age of 60. If one of them does not have the tickets, he or she will not be able to make the tour and there will be no refund.
