We will pick you up at your hotel to start this adventure in northern Chile so we can live the Atacama Desert Camp experience, 2 days and 1 night of adventures especially designed according to your needs.
Considering your type of travel, we present you three alternatives, from which you will have to choose one:
Normal altitude camp
We will depart from San Pedro de Atacama to make a trip from around 1 hour to our camp place that will be at 2500 m (8,202 ft,) of altitude. In this place, we will have our lunch and then we will be able to make a 2-hours recognition hike before seeing the evening in the desert. We will see the sunset before dinner, so then we get rest and have time to watch the night sky, one of the clearest in the world for the astronomical observation.
The next day, we will have breakfast and be able to rest or make a soft walk to watch the flora and fauna, besides visiting a river. After that, we will have time to rest in the campsite before return to San Pedro de Atacama.
Medium altitude camp
We will departure from San Pedro de Atacama to make a 1-hour trip to our place for camping that will be at 3500 m (11,155 ft.) of altitude. In that place, we will have our lunch and we will be able to make a 2-hours hike so we can see the change of colors in the desert, while the sun changes its position, and then we will be able to see the sunset and the first stars in the sky. After that, we will have time to rest, see the stary sky in the desert night and then sleep in our tents.
During the morning, after breakfast, we will have the possibility to make a 3-hour trek before lunch. After eating, we will have free time during the afternoon to rest and take pictures of the place, before returning to the city.
High altitude camp
We will go from around 150 km (93 miles) from the city of San Pedro de Atacama. When we reach to our campsite and set the tents, at 4,000 m (13,123 ft.) of altitude, we will make an acclimatation 3-hours hike, so then we are able to rest and have lunch. During the afternoon, we will have free time to tour the surroundings and wait for the sunset in the desert. At night, before sleeping, we will be able to watch the sky and see the clarity of the Atacama Desert skies, before going to sleep. The next morning, after breakfast, we will make an altitude trek of around 6 hours at the foot of the Andes. There, we will have our box lunch, we will rest and take some pictures, so then we return to the camp, collect our things and return to San Pedro de Atacama to end our activity.
*There is flexibility regarding the places that we will visit and the activities we will make during the tour, according the passenger’s tastes and needs.
*Based on the above, both start and end times of the tour, will depend on the requirements of the passengers themselves.

*The pickup service included does not operate to nor from accommodations located outside the urban area of San Pedro de Atacama, accommodations located in ayllus near San Pedro de Atacama (Quitor, Yaye, Checar, Sequitor, Solor, and Coyo), nor accommodations in the town of Toconao.
