We will pick you up at your hotel in Puerto Natales, to leave the city to the Estancia 3R, at 74 miles from the city, where we will be welcome, and the people will tell us about how their work and life is there.
From this place, we will walk for half an hour to the Irene Lagoon, where we will see and take pictures of birds. Here we will have our first approach to the local indigenous history and the Patagonian process of colonization, so then we take our vehicle and go to the place where we will start the Sierra Baguales Trek of medium difficulty.
We will begin this trek, of about 7.4 miles, going up by a track with views of the Bagual Mountain Range, where different species coexist, like mountain lions, guanacos and baguales horses (wild horses). After that, we will continue to a lookout located at 3,937 ft. above sea level, from where we will have a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape. In this lookout point, we will make a pause to take better pictures and enjoy our box lunch.
During the trekking also, we will be able to identify marine fossils of millions of years, which will help to understand that the entire Patagonia was seabed once. Then, we will begin the return to our vehicle, and then to Puerto Natales, where our activity ends.
