We will meet in our meeting point to start this tour in the Colon Theater, one of the cultural emblems of Buenos Aires. This theater started functioning in 1857 in a building of Plaza de Mayo, but in 1888 was moved to the current building located in Vaticano Square. It took 20 years until it was finished, so it was opened in 1908 and, from that date on, except for some interruptions due to its restoration, has received great artists like Igor Stravinsky, Daniel Barenboim, Maria Callas, and Luciano Pavarotti, just to name a few. After touring the theater and knowing more about its history, you will continue the walking tour to see other palaces in downtown Buenos Aires.
Photographies are generally permitted in certain areas of the theatre, but there may be restrictions within some halls. Your guide will tell you where it is permitted.
You can get there by taxi, public transport or on foot if you are staying in downtown Buenos Aires. It is recommended to arrive at least 10 minutes earlier.
