We will gather at the meeting point to stroll through La Serenissima, as Venice was known during the period it was a city-state. On our Venice Walking Tour, you will see the city from a new perspective, as well as being able to visit landmarks off the beaten path. First, we will start with what you have surely already seen on the internet before arriving: St. Mark’s Square, St. Mark's Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Campanile, and the Clock Tower. It’s a necessary stop, and it’s always worth seeing if the real thing is as good as the photos. You also have the added benefit of your guide, who tell you the history of each structure. Afterwards, you will be able to see other districts and buildings, such as the Campo Santi Giovanni e Paolo, some of the Scuole Grandi, the history of the Condottieri, the house of Marco Polo, and the Teatro Malibran. Finally, you will return to St. Mark's Square via Le Mercerie, the city's main shopping street.
