Uyuni Salt Flat (3 days)

• Because most of the tour takes place above 4,000 m (13,000 ft) in compact vehicles, the following cannot join:
  • Children under 6 years old.
  • Adults over 65 years old (unless presenting a medical certificate).
  • People weighing more than 100 kg (220 lb).
  • Pregnant women.
  • People with hypertension, heart failure, asthma, or similar conditions.

Start: Day 1 at 10:15 am at your accommodation in Uyuni.

End: Day 3 at 6:00 pm in downtown Uyuni (end time may vary due to weather or force majeure; we recommend scheduling your departure from Uyuni for the following day).

Day 1: Uyuni – Train Cemetery – Uyuni Salt Flat

​We’ll pick-up from your hotel in Uyuni to begin the adventure in a 4x4 (6 people per vehicle), which will be our transportation throughout the tour. On the first day, we’ll visit:

• Train Cemetery, an open-air museum of rusting locomotives, a favorite spot for unique photos.
• Colchani Village, the best place to learn about artisanal salt production and buy local handicrafts.
• Salt Museum, built entirely from salt blocks extracted from the flat.
• Incahuasi Island, a limestone island in the middle of the salt flat, famous for its giant cacti and panoramic views from the summit.
• Sunset over the Salt Flat, a breathtaking show of colors that transforms the horizon into a living postcard.
  
  

We’ll finish the day at our refuge, where dinner and rest await.

Lodging: refuge in Colcha K.

Day 2: High-Altitude Lagoons – Siloli Desert

After breakfast, we’ll leave Colcha K and head towards the Chiguana Salt Flat, surrounded by active volcanoes. Along the way, you’ll see extraordinary high-altitude landscapes:

• Cañapa Lagoon, a beautiful lake framed by mountains, home to feeding Andean flamingos.
• Hedionda Lagoon, known for its high sulfur content, which attracts large flocks of birds.
• Honda Lagoon, a peaceful setting highlighting the contrast between desert and water.
• Chiarkota Lagoon, an excellent spot to observe different species of Andean birds in their natural habitat.
• Siloli Desert, a surreal landscape of wind-carved rock formations, including the iconic Stone Tree.
• Colorada Lagoon, a spectacular reddish lake, home to more than 30,000 flamingos.

Lodging: refuge in Villa Mar.

Day 3: Sol de Mañana Geysers – Polques Hot Springs – Licancabur Volcano – Return to Uyuni

​Our last day begins early to enjoy the unique beauty of the Altiplano at dawn:

• Sol de Mañana Geysers, geothermal activity with fumaroles and steam jets reaching 90 °C (194 °F).
• Polques Hot Springs, outdoor pools where you may relax with a warm bath (depending on tour timings).
• Salvador Dalí Desert, a dreamlike landscape resembling the surrealist painter’s works.
• Green and White Lagoons, stunning lakes at the foot of the majestic Licancabur Volcano, known for their intense, shifting colors.
• Valley of Rocks, a natural gallery of wind-shaped rock formations.
• San Cristóbal, a small mining town that preserves colonial churches and local life.

We’ll return directly to Uyuni, where this unforgettable journey through the Bolivian Altiplano comes to an end.

*From January to April, during the rainy season (Altiplano winter), the itinerary may be modified, such as spending the second night in Uyuni and skipping Incahuasi Island if it’s flooded. At any time of year, routes, visited sites, activity order, and schedules may vary due to weather, road conditions, protests, or lodging availability.
