We will gather at our meeting point to start this Santa Teresa Free Tour. This neighborhood is known for its colonial profile, almost uninfluenced by modernity, with a large number of historical buildings, some of them built in the 18th century. With this tour you will discover its beautiful mansions and the numerous urban art murals. You will walk through its cobblestone streets while your guide tells you about the history of the area. You will be able to see Christ the Redeemer of Rio. You will also be able to see a distinctive icon of the neighborhood: the bondinho, the last electric train that circulates in all of Brazil, that crosses the Arcos de Lapa, an old Rio aqueduct that today serves as a route for the train that goes up the hill to enter Santa Teresa. You will arrive at Parque das Ruinas where you can visit the house of Laurinda Santos Lobo, a mansion that was abandoned more than 50 years ago. This house represented the splendor of the Brazilian Belle Époque in the past. The space, which has been rehabilitated, offers a spectacular panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro and shows what life was like in the ancient Brazilian Empire.
