You will begin this Rio de Janeiro's Historic Center Free Tour by exploring the façade of the Municipal Theater, an eclectic-style opera house located in Cinelândia, on Central Avenue near Floriano Square. You will also explore Cinelândia, the area around Floriano Square (Praça Floriano Peixoto in Portuguese), the largest public square in downtown Rio de Janeiro, named after the nation's second president, Floriano Vieira Peixoto.
The tour will continue to the Santa Teresa neighborhood to visit the Selarón Staircase, internationally known for its striking decoration by Chilean artist Jorge Selarón, a project he began in 1990 and which continues to be constantly renovated. This staircase is 125 meters long and has 215 steps and is completely covered with ceramic pieces of various colors, sizes, and shapes.
You can then explore Lapa, a neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro known for its bohemian past and architectural complexes like the Carioca Aqueduct.
The tour will take you to the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, officially the Cathedral of Saint Sebastian of Rio de Janeiro, a Brazilian Catholic cathedral in the modernist style dedicated to Saint Sebastian, the city's patron saint.
You will then arrive at Largo da Carioca, a public space located in the city center and considered its "heart." You will also learn the exact location of the famous Colombo Confectionery (Confeitaria Colombo), located in the historic center of the city. You will then conclude the tour at Plaza Quince de Noviembre.

Very flexible booking as I accidently chose the morning tour when I wanted the afternoon. They accommodated me without any issues. I was also the only one on the tour, so it's nice to see that they will still take a single person out, when many agencies won't do that.
