Itinerary
Day 1: 7:00 am at your hotel in Puno.
Day 2: 3:45 pm at your hotel in Puno.
Day 1: Puno – Uros Island – Amantaní. We will pick you up early at your hotel to head towards the main port of Puno where our kayaking trip will begin. Our guide will wait for us here, who will give us instructions and then accompany us on this adventure on Lake Titicaca. The first visit of the day will be to the Uros Islands, inhabited by a people that lives atop the lake on islands built with totora reed. On this visit, we will learn about their way of life, and we will have the chance to sail on a raft made from totora.
After this, we will take the motorboat to Amantaní Island, where local families will welcome us to eat and learn a little bit about their culture. In the afternoon, we will be able to take a walk to visit some archaeological ruins and watch the sunset over Lake Titicaca from the top of the island, at an altitude of 4,130 meters (13,550 feet). At the end of the day, we will spend the night at the home of one of the families who live in this place.
Day 2: Amantaní – Taquile – Puno. We will get up early to eat breakfast and then board our boat to visit Taquile Island. Here, we will be able to see the locals’ textile handicrafts. We will also take a short hike to explore the place and get another view of Lake Titicaca. After lunch, we will board the boat to start the return trip to the city of Puno to end our activity.
