We will meet at our meeting point at the ecolodge to receive a technical safety talk from the guide, so we are able to maneuver the kayaks safely and enjoy the experience. We will also receive information on the original way the Yaghans used to move about through the channels with canoes built from tree bark. We will begin this kayak tour in the Beagle Channel, paddling through the area of the Paula Cove and Virginia Bay. We will also discover deserted beaches and alcoves that we can only see from the water. We will be able to spot some marine wildlife in this place, such as coastal birds or sea lions. We will paddle facing the shell middens, which are archaeological sites where more information was discovered about the lives of the Yaghans, because they used these as small settlements to take shelter from the inclement Patagonian climate. After this tour beholding the landscape close to Puerto Williams, we will return to the meeting point to end the activity.
