Our first stop is Llanquihue, famous for its traditional gastronomy and as the birthplace of the Maullín River. You will continue along the scenic Camino del Lago until we reach Frutillar, where you will learn about the German settlers who shaped its history. Admire the charming old houses framed by volcanoes in the distance. Optionally, you may visit the German Colonial Museum (not included). You will also stroll along the lakefront promenade, home to the iconic Teatro del Lago, one of Chile’s most important cultural venues.
Finally, you will arrive at Puerto Octay, once the main port for agricultural exports to Osorno. We’ll explore its traditional streets and Plaza de Armas, while discovering the legacy of the German colony in southern Chile.
After a day full of landscapes, culture and history, we’ll return to Puerto Varas to conclude this experience.
*The German Colonial Museum is closed on Mondays from March to December.
*If your accommodation is an Airbnb or the Hotel Casa Azul, we will have to set a meeting point to begin the tour, because the pickup is not made in this kind of places.
*The end time of phis activity might be modified because of the number of passengers during January and February, which is bigger than the rest of the year. Because of that, our recommendation is not to buy tickets to leave Puerto Varas until 5 hours after the end of the tour or leave your trip for the day after.
