We will pick you up at your accommodation in Naples to start this Naples, Pompeii & Vesuvius Day Trip. Your first stop will be at the Duomo, the Naples Cathedral, the main building of worship in Naples dating back to the 13th century. Here is the oldest baptistery in the West, and you can admire the baroque-style Treasury Chapel and the Basilica of Santa Restituta. Here you can find some archaeological remains: a Greek wall, belonging to the temple of Apollo; a section of Roman aqueduct after the founding of the city by the Greeks, and a section of a Greek road on an inclined plane. Then you will pass through the municipal square, where Castel Nuovo is located, also known as Maschio Angioino, it is a medieval Italian castle built in the city of Naples. You can stop on the hills of Posillipo, on the terrace of the church of San Antonio, to get the best view of the city and the bay. You will go to the Piazza del Plebiscito, located in the heart of the city, from here you can walk outside the most important historical buildings of Naples such as the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, the Prefecture Palace and the Palazzo Salerno. Then you will go to Pompeii. Pompeii is an ancient Roman city located in Campania, on the shores of the Gulf of Naples. This city is mainly known for having been destroyed during the eruption of the Vesuvius volcano in 79 AD. Here the tour guide will show you the most fascinating places such as the Forum, the thermal baths, Lupanare, the Greek theater and the casts of the bodies of the people of Pompeii buried by the ashes during the eruption. You will then have a lunch break with margherita pizza and a soft drink. After that you will go to Torre del Greco. From here you will access the Vesuvius National Park where you can walk to the top of the only active volcano in continental Europe, famous for its eruption in 79 AD. From its 1200 meters of altitude you can admire the Gulf of Naples from Cape Miseno to Punta Campanella. Finally you will return to Naples, ending the trip.
