We will pick you up at your accommodation to start this Naples & Pompeii Day Trip. Your first stop will be at the Duomo, the Naples Cathedral, the main building of worship in Naples dating back to the 13th century. Here is the oldest baptistery in the West, and you can admire the baroque-style Treasury Chapel and the Basilica of Santa Restituta. Here you can find some archaeological remains: a Greek wall, belonging to the temple of Apollo, a section of Roman aqueduct after the founding of the city by the Greeks, and a section of a Greek road on an inclined plane. Then you will pass through the municipal square, where Castel Nuovo is located, also known as Maschio Angioino, it is a medieval Italian castle built in the city of Naples. You can stop on the hills of Posillipo, on the terrace of the church of San Antonio, to get the best view of the city and the bay. You will go to the Piazza del Plebiscito, located in the heart of the city, from here you can walk outside the most important and historical buildings of Naples such as the Royal Palace, the Basilica of San Francesco di Paola, the Prefecture Palace and the Palazzo Salerno. Then you will go to Pompeii. Pompeii is an ancient Roman city located in Campania, on the shores of the Gulf of Naples. This city is mainly known for having been destroyed during the eruption of the Vesuvius volcano in 79 AD. Here the tour guide will show you the most fascinating places such as the Forum, the thermal baths, Lupanare, the Greek theater and the casts of the bodies of the people of Pompeii buried by the ashes during the eruption.
