We will gather at the meeting point to start this walk through the city of Lisbon where you will enjoy an authentic Food & Culture Experience. You will start in Mouraria, a neighborhood not well known to tourists, as this activity hopes to take you off the beaten path. This area is a melting pot of many cultures from around the world, partly thanks to Portugal’s seafaring heritage, allowing you to see the city’s many influences. You will pass by churches and mosques, as well as shops where you are sure to find a good souvenir. Next, you will stop to try a traditional pastry and a coffee, two things that Lisboners take very seriously. You will then walk to Praça do Rossio, the city’s main square, and the guide will tell you about how Lisbon was changed in the earthquake that destroyed the city completely in the 18th century. You can see where the Portuguese and visitors from all over the world live the bohemian life in the Bairro Alto and Chiado neighborhoods. There, you can enjoy a Portuguese beer with panoramic views of the city. Afterwards, you can visit the bank of the Tagus River and take a ferry to Cacilhas, a picturesque place known for its sparkling vinho verde and fresh seafood. Soak in the views of the southern bank of the river and make sure to snap a few photos. We will then return to Lisbon, ending the activity.
