We will pick you up at your hotel to leave La Serena towards the north, to Punta de Choros cove. That way we will get closer to visit the Humboldt Penguin Reserve & Damas Island. We will begin a boat trip to Choros Island where, without disembarking, we will have the possibility to identify the different birds’ species that inhabit there, like the Humboldt penguin, cormorants and pelicans, among others. In addition, we will see sea lions, chungungos and, if we are lucky enough, bottlenose dolphins.
After that, we will go to Damas Island, where, during the indicated days, we will disembark* for around 1 hour, time in which we will be able to tour the white sand and turquoise waters beaches, and the 1800 meters track, in which is possible seeing more penguins and other birds. After that, we will take our boat to begin the return to La Serena and end our tour.
*The organization of days with disembark and without disembark it’s because the series of measures implemented by CONAF to avoid crowds in the current pandemic situation.
