Flowering Desert Full Day

This tour is made in specific and limited dates because the Flowering Desert can be seen only in specific periods of the year, and not every year. Our recommendation is to book your place as in advance as possible.

The pickup is very early in the morning to take the Panamericana route towards the north of La Serena. We will reach the town of Huasco, and then take the road to Carrizal Bajo, on the side of the Llanos de Challe National Park. While we go forward through this place, we will be able to see how the soil is filled with colors, what is known as the flowering desert. This phenomenon is produced when it rains more than expected in the desert, which makes appearing a great variety of flowers of different colors. Once in Carrizal Bajo, we will visit the place's wetland so we can look and photograph the black-necked swan. After that, we will have our brunch in the park and some minutes to rest, before making a hike towards the Huasco wetland. Then, we will stop in a place to make a stargazing (subject to weather conditions), in which we will identify the constellations and astronomical objects visible in that moment. Finally, we will go back to La Serena to take to your hotel, ending that way the tour.

*The duration of the tour is variable according to if the weather conditions allow or do not the star gazing, coming back to La Serena between 9:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
