Itinerary

Day 1: Iquitos – Muyuna Lodge.

To start the tour, we will pick you up at your accommodation or at the airport, if your flight arrives while program starts. From any of those points, we will go to the pier to continue the trip by boat. You will reach the Muyuna Lodge at lunch, so then you can rest a little bit. After that, you will walk in the surroundings so you can see the variety of flora in the place. In addition, you will be able to identify the pygmy marmoset, the smallest monkey in the world. Then, you will go to the Sapote Lagoon to see the sunset, a true spectacle of this region. After dinner, there is a nighttime excursion to identify different night animals.

 

Day 2: Amazon River – Corriente & Purura Lagoons – San Juan de Yanayacu.

After breakfast, you will go out by boat to navigate the Amazon River, where you will be able to swim with pink and grey dolphins, if you’re lucky enough to find them. After that, you will go to a place where you can see the Victoria Regia, the largest aquatic plant in the world. In addition, you will see iguanas, reptile that lives in this place in its natural state. After lunch in the lodge, you will go fishing piranhas to the Corriente & Purura lagoons, and you will visit the town of San Juan de Yanayacu. During the night, after dinner, you will be able to go walking in search of tarantulas and giant frogs.

 

Day 3: Juanachi or Moena Lagoon.

You will get up early for breakfast and then you will make an excursion to the Juanachi lagoon or the Moena Lagoon. In any of them, you will see the flora of the Amazon Arena, besides looking for different species of monkeys and birds. You will return to the lodge for lunch, after what you will have a tour focused on medicinal plants. At night you will have dinner and then a nighttime boat ride, so you can listen the sounds that brings the jungle at night.

 

Day 4: Tipashiro or Vacapoza – Camp.

After having breakfast, you will make an excursion to Tipashiro or Vacapoza with the guide, places that are hard to reach where it is possible to identify other animals, like sloths, monkeys and even anacondas. After this activity, we will set the camp to spend the night there. In that same spot you will have lunch, so then you go out to tour the camp surroundings. Later, you will have dinner and you will be able to make a nighttime excursion with the guide.

 

Day 5: Excursion in the jungle.

You will have breakfast in the camp before going out for the excursion. You will identify vegetable species, as well as the animals that inhabit this place. Then, you will go back to the lodge for lunch and rest. During the afternoon, you will be able to make one of the available activities: kayak, paddle, or canoe riding. At night, you will have dinner and time for a free election nighttime activity.

 

Day 6: Casha Lagoon – Iquitos.

You will have breakfast early in the morning to go out in the boat to the hard-to-reach Casha Lagoon. There you will be able to see other Amazon landscape, even though always with its characteristic green color. The same way, you will identify other animals that inhabit the place with the help of the guide. Then, at the lodge, you will have lunch so then you collect your things and start the journey back to Iquitos, where the activity ends.
