In the Altiplano mountain range and along two little lagoons, one green and the other yellow, it is located the Red Lagoon. The reason why this lagoon has that color is unknown, as well as its depth.

To reach this place, we will leave Iquique towards the Altiplano, passing by the Camiña Ravine. At this place, we will be able to see the petroglyphs and pictographs of Chillaiza, associated with the caravan routes that followed the inhabitants of the Inca Empire. Then, we will arrive to Camiña, where we will have breakfast and get ready for the next stage of the trip.

We will continue to the Red Lagoon, located at an altitude of 12,139 ft. Here we will be able to go over and take pictures, while our guide gives some data and tells us some details of its legend. The same way, we will visit the green and yellow lagoons, located nearby. Then, we will go back to Camiña for lunch, and then we will continue the return to Iquique, where we will end the tour.

*Part of this tour is made above 12,139 ft. of altitude, so we recommend not to have breakfast at your accommodations before beginning the activity and read this article about the altitude sickness.

*The service includes a Spanish-speaking guide only. If you need an English-speaking guide or a guide who speaks another language, write us at reserva@denomades.com with your request.
