We will start the tour from Iquique to the north, reaching first the majestic Cerro Unita, to observe the geoglyph Gigante de Atacama, an interesting remnant of the ancient inhabitants of the north.
Following our tour, from the top of the Quebrada de Tarapacá we stop at the lookout to acclimatise to the altitude. We will see the people and their fertile valley, and continuing our ascent into the mountains, the Baths of Chusmiza and its mineral water springs feeding the crops in the area.
Later we will arrive at the popular Puchuldiza Geysers where we will see these hidden wonders of our highlands. Then, on our way to Isluga we will visit the ancient town Mauque and its church, Salar and Laguna Aravilla and Isluga National Park. Once in Isluga, we will visit their village and church and then we will have lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit Mauque and Enquelga, to enjoy its thermal baths. Then we will return to Iquique.
*Part of this tour is made above 3,000 m or 9,842.5 ft. of altitude, so we recommend not having breakfast at your accommodations before the beginning of the activity, and read this article to avoid the symptoms of the altitude sickness.
*The service includes a Spanish-speaking guide only. If you need an English-speaking guide or a guide who speaks another language, write us at reserva@denomades.com with your request.
Reviews
