For those adventurers looking to connect with Costa Rican nature in a different way, there's the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano Trek, where you can explore and observe this active volcanic park, as well as the flora and fauna that inhabit its surroundings.
There are two trails: the Las Pilas Circular Trail, which is less physically demanding, more popular and more accessible. It covers a total distance of 3.4 km and offers opportunities to observe surface geothermal activity, with active fumaroles and boiling mud pools. The other trail, the Las Cataratas Trail, covers a total distance of 10 km and is therefore slightly more challenging. It crosses different ecosystems, such as dry forest, grasslands, and rocky areas, and also includes the famous La Cangreja Waterfall, where you can rest and take photographs.
Regardless of which option you choose, you will have a unique experience immersed in nature and access to Costa Rica's wonderful landscapes. You will then return to Guanacaste to complete the activity.
