You will begin this activity leaving the city to get to the starting point of the Celeste River Trek, a 5-km, medium-intensity hike that you can complete in approximately 4 hours.
During the journey, you will cross primary and secondary forests at medium elevations until you reach a place called Los Teñideros. Here, the river takes on a turquoise hue thanks to the chemical reaction between the water and the volcanic materials.
You will also visit the Blue Lagoon, a natural pool where you can see volcanic fumaroles. There is also a place called Borbollones, where gases escape from the riverbed, giving the impression of boiling water.
Finally, you will reach the Celeste River Waterfall, a 30-meter waterfall that forms a small turquoise lagoon, one of the most beautiful in Costa Rica.
