We will gather at the meeting point to begin our tour and learn more about this influential Italian city. Our City Tour & Accademia Gallery Guided Tour will give you an in-depth understanding of the birthplace of the Renaissance. You will start in Piazza San Giovanni, where the Duomo is located. Next, you will visit the Piazza della Signoria in the heart of the city. This square features the Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia dei Lanzi, which house the statues of Perseus by Cellini, among others. Finally, you will arrive at the Accademia Gallery, the museum that is home to David, Michelangelo’s iconic sculpture. You will also explore the hallways and rooms that house Michelangelo’s unfinished sculptures, such as the Prisoners, Saint Matthew, and the Palestrina Pietà, among others. The guide will also tell you about the life of the artist, who is known not only for his sculptures, but also his paintings, poetry, and architectural works.
