We will start at Vaihu, an unrestored ceremonial site with toppled moai that reflect past tribal rivalries. Next, visit Ahu Akahanga, also called the king’s platform, home to four platforms, twelve moai, eight pukao, and one of the best-preserved traditional villages.
We will then explore Rano Raraku volcano and quarry, where most of the moai were carved. Here you will see nearly 400 statues in different stages of carving. Afterwards, we will head to Ahu Tongariki, the largest platform on the island, with its impressive fifteen moai facing the ocean.
The route continues to Ahu Te Pito Kura, where you will find the Moai Paro, the tallest statue on the island at 10 meters and 85 tons, alongside the legendary “Navel of the World” stone.
Finally, enjoy free time at the stunning Anakena Beach, with white sands and turquoise waters, before returning to your accommodation.
