We will pick you up at your hotel in the morning to take the highway and take a detour that will lead us to the Kuélap Archaeological Complex, a trip that will take approximately 1 hour. Our first stop will be the town of Nuevo Tingo, where we will stop at the restaurant to choose our meals for lunch. After this short stop, we will go to the bus station to take the bus to the cable car railway.
We will take a trip in a cable car that will last approximately 20 minutes. From up high, we will get views of the valleys that people used to have to hike through to visit the archaeological site. Once we arrive to the final station, we will have time to go to the restroom and visit the interpretation center, where the guide will give us some initial information about this place.
Afterwards, we will take a 30- to 45-minute hike to reach the archaeological site. We will visit different parts of the fort as our guide provides us with information from archaeological studies that have allowed us to learn more about this culture that originated in the 8th century, and which persevered until the arrival of the Spanish. We will hike the trails amidst houses and ceremonial sites as we take in the scenery.
After this experience, we will go back to the cable car to begin the return trip to Nuevo Tingo, where we will have lunch. After a short rest, we will head back to the city of Chachapoyas to end the tour.
