We will pick you up at your hotel and start with a visit to Castro’s Yumbel Market, where you’ll see native potatoes, shellfish, herbs, and the ingredients that define Chilote cuisine. Next, we’ll pass by the iconic palafitos of Castro, the colorful stilt houses that line the waterfront.

Then, we will head to a rural area, where a local family will welcome us to share their culinary traditions. You will learn how the traditional pulmay is prepared, a typical Chilote dish made with seafood, meats, and potatoes, cooked in the ground. Of course, you will also get to taste it!

We will finish our journey returning to Castro, enriched with the flavors and stories of Chiloé Island’s gastronomy.

*If your accommodation is in the Rilán Peninsula, we will have to set a meeting point because we don’t make pickups in that area.
