We will gather at our meeting point to begin this Getsemaní Neighborhood Free Tour, where you will understand the importance of a segregated and insurgent community during the colony, whose fighting spirit initiated the independence of Colombia and, over time, generated artistic movements in cinema, painting, sculpture, dance and, of course, music. The modern neighborhood of Getsemaní has as its main attraction the Plaza de la Santísima Trinidad, which takes its name from the church with which it shares the place, the Iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad (The Church of the Holy Trinity), which is located in front of it. Here, groups of people gather to drink beer, listen to street performers, and eat grilled arepas at adjacent stalls. The nearby streets, also known for their picturesque murals, have lively pizzerias and small restaurants that serve Colombian dishes.
