Itinerary
Day 1: Arequipa - Base Camp.
We will depart from Arequipa to begin the ascent of Misti Volcano. This volcano, located at the foot of the Chili River valley, has become one of Arequipa's greatest symbols. The 4x4 vehicle will take you to the foothills of the volcano, entering the Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Park, passing through the dam checkpoint until reaching the end-of-travel zone (a total of 3 hours, reaching an altitude of 4,200 m). The trail will take you to base camp, through a volcanic ash area. You will ascend for approximately 3 hours until you reach Mount Blanc, which reaches an altitude of 4,800 m. Once at camp, you can rest and have dinner. (Each passenger must bring their own lunch and snack on this day.)
Day 2: Base Camp - Volcano Crater - Arequipa.
After breakfast, you will begin the ascent to the volcano's crater very early in the morning. You will reach the summit, which is at 5,825 meters above sea level, after a journey of approximately six hours. After enjoying the wonderful views that the top of the volcano gives you, you will begin the descent to the base camp. Here you will have time to pack your things to return to the transportation, and take the vehicle that will return you to Arequipa.
