Itinerary

Beginning: 7:30 am in the Empresa Portuaria Austral (EPA) Pier of Puerto Natales.
Ending: 4:00 pm in Chaitén Port, Torres del Paine Serrano Area.

We will begin our expedition in Puerto Natales with the check-in at 7:30 am to set sail in the catamaran at 8:00 am. Beginning our sailing across the Señoret Channel, we will pass by the Frigorífico Bories National Historical Monument, a 1913 construction characteristic by its industrial post Victorian English style. We will continue the travel towards the Guanaco Island, where we will see beautiful Magellanic dolphins, also known as toninas, a must-see wonder, just as the existing birds in the Cormorants Wall. The access to the island is through the Estancia Margot, a natural attraction that you will love. We will continue the journey by cascades, cliffs and Punta de Lobos, where we can see some sea lions.

The navigatino will go on to our main destination, the Balmaceda Hill, from where we will see the spectacular Balmaceda Glacier. We will disembark in Toro Port, where together with our guide we will make a walk by the Témpanos Lagoon shore. After a short break, we will continue towards the Serrano Glacier through a native forest of coigües (Nothofagus dombeyi), ñirres (Nothofagus antarctica) and ciruelillos (Embothrium coccineum), enjoying the impressive vegetation and the contrast between the sky and the ice of the sea. Once in the Serrano Glacier, we will enjoy a whiskey with thousand-year-old ice while we have a spectacular panoramic view of the Serrano Glacier.

Back from the hike, the Zodiac guide will be waiting for us to give the safety instructions and the route information that we will follow, and also to give us the thermal-floating suits that each one of us will be using. The sailing will begin by the Serrano River, which in 40 kilometers connects the fjord with the Torres del Paine. There will be a stop in the middle of the route to enjoy a privileged view of the Tyndall Glacier, part of the Southern Patagonian Ice Field.

Then, we will arrive in the saldo area, where we will make a 15 minutes’ walk to change our ship to an inflatable boat and continue with the excursion. During this short walk, there will be a stop in the Donoso Hill viewpoint for having a view of the flow of water in the salto area. We will go on with the sailing in the new boat, finally reaching Chaitén Port, in the Torres del Paine Serrano Area, where we will enjoy a delicious typical Patagonian lunch.
